Access to YouTube

Accessing to YouTube videos is not always straightforward in Haiku because not all web browsers can read directly these videos.

This article will give an overview of the possibilities you have to access to such content under this operating system.

Compatible Web browsers

1- Falkon

One of the easiest way to access to YouTube is to install and use the Falkon web browser.

Once you accept the conditions, and search for your first videos, the content can be played as below :

Nothing more is needed and all is working fine :)

2- Dooble

Another alternative to Falkon to play YouTube videos is Dooble.

As for Falkon, the access is very straightforward and the videos display is quite smooth :

3 - QuteBrowser

I've discovered recently QuteBrowser, so if you need another alternative browser to watch your favorite videos on YouTube, give it a try !

Other solutions

QMPlay2

This application is not a web broswer, however you can indicate a YouTube URL to play the content.

One of the advantage of this solution is that it didn't play any advertisment before or during the video play.

So enjoy!

I've also checked for the VLC media player with its network stream play function, but I didn't have any success in playing YouTube videos.
