Use Vision

Vision is a native IRC application for Haiku. Compared to the Haiku forums, this application can be used as an additional way to connect with the Haiku community.

Let's review how to setup it.

When you open Vision for the first time, it will connect to the #haiku channel on the OFTC network :

However, the nickname used might not correspond to the one you want, so let's review how to change it. Open the "Server>Setup" menu :

In the setup window, click on "Network setup" :

Then change your Identity, Real name and Preferred nicks corresponding to the nickname you would like to use :

Please note that on OFTC, nicknames are served on a first come, first served basis. Quit and relaunch Vision application :

Tada !

We can see now that "digitalbox98" is the new nickname used.
